A concerned member of the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has vowed to continue speaking out until Dr. Lazarus Chakwera steps down as MCP President.
The member, speaking in a video clip circulating on various media platforms, stated that the party needs new leadership to demonstrate its commitment to returning to government.

With Chakwera on the ballot in 2030, she believes the party will struggle to win, predicting less than one million votes for him.
She claimed that President Chakwera is not the solution to the party’s or the country’s problems, citing his failed leadership and inability to prosecute former President Peter Mutharika, whom he had labeled as a “Prince of Corruption”.

The member accused Chakwera of condoning corruption and being indecisive, leading to a loss of trust among Malawians.
The citizen also questioned what the party has done to show it has changed since losing the elections, noting that MCP is clinging to Chakwera as its torchbearer in the 2030 Elections.

She criticized Chakwera’s global travels, estimating he spent only 100 days attending to office duties during his five-year tenure.
The member emphasized she’s not against Chakwera as a person, but rather his leadership style and indecisive leadership.
She challenged MCP members and supporters to consider replacing him with someone who can take the party to the next level.
