Minister of National Unity Timothy Mtambo has officially launched the United Nations Sustainable Development goals Acceleration Fund Project which will be focusing on borderland Security and Conflict Prevention in Mangochi and Mulanje.
According to Mtambo, the project is meant to enhance peace and unity in bordering villages as well as amongst the villagers themselves. He made the remarks during the launch in the area of Traditional Authority Bwananyambi, in Mangochi.

During the same event, the minister revealed that his ministry will start to operationalise the National Unity and peace Act on September 5, this year.
Mtambo further said that by December this year, his ministry will have a National Peace and Unity Commission ready to help in the operationalisation of the new Act which has been assented to by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
