Price Of 50 Kg Bag Of AIP Fertilizer Up To K15, 000

By Suleman Chitera Nov16,2022

All preparatory processes for the commencement of the 2022/23 Farm Inputs Programme are finalized and the programme will roll out soon.

Principal Secretary responsible for Technical Services in the Agriculture Ministry, Medrina Banda further says it has cancelled procurement of fertilizer using local tender as the coming in of donated fertilizer has helped to boost the commodity in-flow.

2.5 million farmers will benefit from this year’s programme which President Lazarus Chakwera is expected to launch on Saturday in Dedza.

Government has hiked the price of a 50 kilogramme bag of the AIP to K15, 000; a move some civil rights groups describe as still high for many citizens currently struggling with the economic hardships.
