Mighty Wanderers leader dismisses resignation reports as disrespectful, vows to continue supporting the Nomads

Mighty Wanderers team leader Dr Thomson Mpinganjira has broken his silence over reports circulating on social media claiming that he has resigned from his position and withdrawn his financial support for the Nomads following the club’s disappointing CAF Champions League campaign.
Mpinganjira has firmly rejected the reports, describing the claims as disrespectful and saying they amount to nothing more than “Chumba’s dreams.”
The reports caused concern among a section of Mighty Wanderers supporters, particularly coming after the Nomads suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat to Tanzania’s Simba SC, exiting the CAF Champions League 7-1 on aggregate.
However, Mpinganjira has moved to reassure the Wanderers family that his commitment to the club remains intact.
According to Mpinganjira, Mighty Wanderers remains his team at heart, and he has no intention of abandoning the club because of one disappointing campaign.
He has further made it clear that he will continue supporting Wanderers financially and otherwise, just as he has done in the past.
The clarification is likely to bring relief to Nomads supporters who were left worried by the resignation rumours at a difficult moment for the club.
The CAF Champions League exit has undoubtedly raised questions about Wanderers’ performance and preparations, but Mpinganjira’s latest remarks suggest that his relationship with the club remains firmly in place.
For a club whose supporters have endured both triumphs and difficult moments, the message from Mpinganjira is straightforward: the CAF disappointment has not changed his commitment to Mighty Wanderers.
The Nomads now face the task of putting the painful continental campaign behind them and rebuilding confidence as they turn their attention to domestic football.
Mighty Wanderers supporters can therefore expect Mpinganjira to remain part of the club’s support structure, despite the social-media reports suggesting otherwise.
