Kachali Dumps DPP, Joins UTM.

Former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Deputy National Director of Elections, Mavuto Kachali has defected to United Transformation Movement-UTM.

Kachali, said he decided to ditch People’s party because he wants to support the current leadership in bringing tangible developments in the country.

“My aim of joining this party is to join hands with others in revamping the party and to support Dr. Saulos Chilima.

“I have made the decision on my own for the love I have for ‘UTM,” he said.

He welcomed by UTM regional governor for the north Nengezi Ziba this afternoon at Euthini in Mzimba.

In her welcoming remarks, Ziba said the defection to UTM means many people still have trust in Chilima.

She added that the addition of new members is a clear indication that the party is growing.

She expressed optimism that Kachali will contribute new ideas to help revamp the party at the grassroots level.

She said Chilima remains the only hope for Malawians currently facing various challenges and called on people to vote for him in the upcoming elections if the country is to improve.

“I ask all those who have not yet joined the party to come so that we can work together for better results come 2025,” she said.
