Bamusi Arrested For Selling Counterfeit Products

Police in Mzuzu have arrested 30-year-old man Bamusi Dayton for allegedly selling counterfeit products within the city.

Mzuzu police deputy spokesperson, Sergent Cecillia Mfune, says the suspect was allegedly selling counterfeit hybrid seed in Seedco packs.

Mzuzu Police detectives pounced on him following a complaint from Seedco Seeds official, who acted on information from one of his customers that the suspect was allegedly offering to sell Seedco seeds, which were suspected to be counterfeit.

”During the arrest, the suspect was found with 50 packets of 2 kilograms, 1 packet of 5 kilograms, and 28 packets of DK maize seed of 5 kilograms with Mozambican label,” said Mfune.

Dyton, who hails from Ndalama Village in Traditional Authority Chikowi in Zomba district, has been charged with being found in possession of and selling counterfeit products.
