Preparations for the highly anticipated Entertainers of the Year Awards 2024 are in full swing, with the organising committee assuring the public of a spectacular event on Saturday, December 14, at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lilongwe, Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Director General, George Kasakula, promised an unforgettable night.
“This is the grand finale for 2024, and we are going all out to ensure it is a memorable event. Our focus is on rewarding talent that Malawians have recognised and chosen. The team has worked tirelessly, and we are confident that this will be the best event of the year,” said Kasakula.
Committee chairperson Chisomo Mwamadi revealed significant changes to this year’s format aimed at improving the event experience. Among the key adjustments is a reduction in podium presentations.
“Out of 51 awards, only 27 will be presented on stage, while the remaining 24 will be collected later from MBC offices. This adjustment has been made to shorten the event to two hours compared to last year’s four-hour ceremony, which received complaints for being too long,” Mwamadi explained.
The committee has urged the public to continue voting for their favourite nominees, with voting officially closing an hour before the event starts.
This year’s event promises to be a fitting conclusion to a year of exceptional talent and entertainment in Malawi, with the BICC set to host some of the biggest names in the industry. Fans and stakeholders are looking forward to a glamorous celebration of creativity and artistry in the country.
Don’t miss out! The Entertainers of the Year Awards 2024 will kick off on December 14, celebrating the best in Malawi’s entertainment industry.
