Karonga based rights activist Comrade Lytone Mangochi, has called on Malawians never to praise Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja for ably presiding over the 16th September, 2025 general elections in a free and fair manner.
Mangochi has claimed that if Malawi was to go into ethnic violence and war second to Mozambique was because of Justice Mtalimanja who proved right from her appointment as Mec Chairperson that she was there as an agent of the MCP.
He has argued that if Justice Mtalimnja has presided the elections in a free and fair manner is because of pressure from Malawians themselves that saw clearly from the 17th September, 2025 that Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika was the clear winner and she had no room to play her tactics of siding with the MCP.
Speaking through a video clip, Mangochi has saluted High Court Judge Kacheche for his ruling that there should be manual counting and manual transmission of results from constituency tally centres to the main tally centre in Lilongwe.
Mangochi said if Judge Kacheche did not provide his ruling on manual counting and manual transmission of results, Malawians could not wait for official results as they have waited for long but to go in the streets protesting the results.Malawi Elections 2025: Survey Shows Peter Mutharika Leading Ahead of Lazarus Chakwera
He said Mec Chairperson Justice Mtalimanja was appointed for a purpose of helping President Chakwera to win the elections saying by all means, with Smartmatic machines in her hands, she would have declared outgoing President Chakwera the winner.
The activist said the way Justice Mtalimanja was behaving in rejecting Malawians calls for independent audit on the voters’ roll and electronic transmission of results, she demonstrated that she was not for Malawians hence never and ever to praise her for a good job.
“If there’s one to praise, is Judge Kacheche , she is a Judge who loves the country with all of his heart, God has to give him more years of his life,” said Mangochi.Court Spares MCP from Paying Legal Costs in Mumba’s Election Case
He has appealed to Malawians to join him in wishing President Chakwera rest in peace where he is going outside State House claiming that he has killed millions of Malawians with hunger while they are alive, shame to him, his advisors and all those that were clapping hands for “Boma ndi lomweli silikuchoka,”
Mangochi has advised Malawians not to trust that President Chakwera accepted a defeat to Professor Mutharika in good faith reminding them that Chakwera vowed to shed blood saying it took him some days to come to his senses to accept the results.
He has described President Chakwera as a President who do not speak peace, preach peace, and eat peace saying it was not surprising to note that at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) of 2024 he voted for war to continue between Israel and Palestinians.
And writing on her face book page, DPP National Director of Women Affairs Mary Thom Navicha, has thanked God the Almighty that MCP has finally gone to the grave praying that children to be born should never find this party inexistence anymore.
