Mfune calls Area 25B residents to register students for bursary scheme

Member of Parliament for Lilongwe City Dzenza constituency Jonathan Mfune, has called on vulnerable parents and guardians in Area 25B township who cannot afford to pay boarding fees for their children in government secondary schools to register their names for them to benefit from the 2026/2027 bursary scheme.

Mfune has advised parents and guardians to use this opportunity of registering names of their children so that government pay the children with bursary schemes to ease their everyday worries.

Speaking during a funeral service, Mfune said this is an opportunity for those who are lacking boarding fees to register in their large number saying the registeration of beneficiaries in time while help in the verification exercise so that deserved beneficiaries are taken on board.

The Parliamentarian said this registeration exercise is being conducted across the constituency so that the names collected are sampled and verified for the constituency to have the required beneficiaries.

“So far, I have received over 200 names of beneficiaries to be considered for bursary scheme and registration is still going on across the constituency” said Mfune.

He has also advised residents of the area to work together for the good of the area saying no one will come from outside to build the area hence a call to the residents to work together with one common purpose.

Mfune took his turn to advise women and mothers to care for baby diapers which are being thrown anywhere describing this situation as very worrisome and need not to be tolerated.

He said sanitation is the basis for all saying it is the duty of each and every person to see to it that the environment is kept clean for the people to live healthier.
