Political activist Bon Kalindo, has told Malawi Congress Party (MCP) members and supporters that following the elections which were held on the 16th September, 2025 President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is no more President of the country, he is former President.

Kalindo said he is aware that many MCP members and supporters do not know that the country’s leadership has changed and they are doing things ignorantly just in the same way as they were dong under Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s watch, that Professor Mutharika will arrest them.

He said it is sad that after the MCP and President Chakwera lost the elections, they have resorted to vandalizing State House property at Kamuzu Palace, Sanjika and Mzuzu reminding them that the new government of the DPP-AFORD Alliance will not leave them scot-free.

Kalindo said there have been Presidents who once occupied State House but all after losing the elections, they went home without breaking and vandalizing State House property and it has happened for the first time under President Chakwera’s watch that faeces have found their way to be smeared on the walls of the House of honor.

Speaking through an audio clip, Kalindo has warned MCP members and supporters that State House was built using taxpayers’ money and as such, Malawians will not accept the MCP to be taking the State House as theirs because President Chakwera once lived in it.

Kalindo said Malawians have sailed through pain and sufferings under the 5 years of President Chakwera and his MCP and cannot sit back watching MCP supporters angered by Professor Mutharika’s victory damaging the honor the State House has at their watch.

He said if he was President of the country, he would have ordered for the arrest of President Chakwera and State House Chief of Staff Prince Kapondamgaga to stand trial reminding MCP members and supporters that President Chakwera is an ordinary person and can be taken to court by anyone in the country.

The activist has warned the DPP that not all that are with them are genuine DPP members claiming that they were working with MCP before and they are informants of the MCP advising the party to start arresting all those that broke the law under the previous government for it to earn trust by Malawians.

“Vandalizing and destroying State House property is a serious offence, this is speaking to itself that these people do not accept that Professor Mutharika is the country’s President,” said Kalindo.

He has called for disbandment of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) claiming that ever since time immemorial, small fishes are the ones who are being arrested and prosecuted while big fishes are allowed to swim till this day, hence no need to have an institution which has no impact to Malawians.
