Minister of Information Shadric Namalomba has been quoted in the media having said that the tragic death of the former Vice President Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima and eight others, is very painful joining millions of Malawians that have questions without answers on his death.
Namalomba said it is the wish of the new government to investigate of what really happened for the plane to crash and who was behind for the truth to prevail saying the Government of President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is committed to bring closure to the case.
He said the bereaved families, friends and all Malawians are all praying for justice to be seen saying this is why President Professor Mutharika ordered his Justice Minister Charles Mhango to re-look at the three reports covering the death of Dr. Sauklosi Chilima and others.
The Information Minister said Justice Minister Charles Mhango will inform Parliament soon on the direction government will undertake to investigate circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Dr. Saulosi Chilima and eight others.
“As government, it is true that there is need to speed up the investigations and we are committed to speed up for justice to be seen,” said Namalomba.
A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has thanked government for coming out from silence with a message of hope that it is committed to investigate circumstances surrounding Dr. Chilima’s death.
Kamphangala said Malawians had millions of questions without answers on the death of Dr. Chilima and eight others, and as such, they wanted President Professor Mutharika to institute a commission of investigations in as soon as yesterday.
He said as weeks turns into months hearing nothing from government, millions of Malawians lost hope that President Professor Mutharika would institute a commission of investigations saying this brought noise in various social media platforms that the DPP led government has abandoned Chilima’s death.
The MCP diehard said now that there is green light for the truth to prevail on Chilima and eight others death, he has advised President Professor Mutharika to institute a commission of investigations comprising of genuine activists and journalists for Malawians to trust the Commission.
He said the matter of Chikangawa forest has the starting point with questioning President Chakwera saying there is no need to waste resources travelling to Chikangawa to meet concerned people assuring President Professor Mutharika that these activists and journalists will dig out all the information as required while sitting on the table.
“Hon. Kamlepo Kalua, Dr. Samuel Lwara, Bon Kalindo, Lytone Mangochi, Pastor Moses Shumba, Bishop Kachenje, Bakili Muluzi TV, Comrade Ntanyiwa, Sylvester Namiwa, Burnett Munthali, Suleman Chitera, Jones Gadama, and others, are enough to put the case of Chilima’s death to a closure.
Kamphangala has warned President Professor Mutharika that if these activists and journalists are not appointed to serve into the Commission of investigations, the Commission he will announce to the public will be dead on arrival to the citizens with no hope for justice to be finally seen.
