AFORD Storms Thyolo With 30th Anniversary Celebrations

By Noel Mkwaila–Bvumbwe, THYOLO

People gathered at Bvumbwe Research Ground in Thyolo district attending Alliance for Democracy-AFORD political rally, have shared pathetic tales of frustrations and despair amid worsening harsh economic hardships.

Their challenges range from unemployment, hunger and low cash flow which they say have pushed them down into deep poverty levels.

Emily Diton from Mountain View area says she is currently struggling to feed her family as access to money for buying food is not there.

And 23-year-old Luke Thomas tells us youths are sailing in the bondage of unemployment.

“We are just staying idle with no hope that things will work for our betterment,” he says.

Another lady in her youthful age, Emily Chaziya thinks Malawi is currently in a messed up state and hopes to hear what Aford intends to do to correct the situation if given chance to govern.

Her sentiments have also been echoed by previous speakers; saying it is the reason they have come to attend the rally, so they hear, how the party will resolve the challenges.

A few days ago, AFORD President Enoch Chihana was in Nchalo, Chikwawa where he said Malawi is a titanic sinking ship with no captain to provide necessary directions.

Aford is among the nine parties that campaigned for the Tonse Alliance in the court sanctioned June 2020 presidential polls; promising a better Malawi for all and Canaan-land of milk and honey.
