Neno district has lost an Animal Health Surveillance Assistant at Ligowe, Joshua Maseko, 38, after being swept away by flooded water in Nkase River.
Police report in the district shows the deceased was washed away together with his motorcycle as he tried to cross the river.
Poat-mortem result at Lisungwi Community Hospital reveals the death was due to suffocation secondary to drowning.
Maseko hailed from Malopa Village, Traditional Authority Chimwala in Mangochi district.
