Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has pledged to support a Lilongwe based mouth painter, Chris Chayera with a House that will also have an art workshop where Chayera will be making his art-pieces.
Chayera who has a physical disability, is a painter who uses his mouth to make his art-work.
And on Saturday, Prophet Sheppard Bushiri announced a partnership with local NGO Hope for the Hopeless (HfH) which he will fund to construct a modern house for Chayera.
According to Bushiri’s publicist, Ephraim Nyondo, in the partnership Bushiri is expected to construct the house for Chayera and help market and sell all art-pieces of Chayera to his international visitors.
“Prophet Bushiri is a man who is also known for charity works, and one of the sectors he supports is the art sector through his Major one records. The Prophet was very happy to see the works that are being done by Chayera who is physically challenged and this made him believe that disability is not inability, he then decided to help Chayera with a house and also market his products.” Said Nyondo.
Nyondo added that, Bushiri will construct the house through Hope for the Hopeless organization which has been working with and supporting Chayera.
Welcoming the development, Felix Sikwese Director for Hope for the Hopeless expressed excitement and thanked Bushiri for the gesture.
Also speaking at the partnership unveiling event, Chayera thanked Bushiri for coming in to help him saying he had no art-workshop and this was affecting his work.
“The 2019 Anti-Jane Ansah demos, left me helpless as demonstrators vandalized and store everything in my shop. The gesture by Bushiri is a dream come true for me as I have been praying for such assistance, now God has answered my prayers” said Chayera
