President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has delegated former president, Dr Joyce Banda, to represent Malawi at the state funeral of the late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and Head of the Commonwealth.
This is contained in a statement released by the Office of the President and Cabinet.
The Queen’s State Funeral will be held on Monday, 19 September at Westminster Abbey in London, England.
The late Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was the Head of the Commonwealth, a political association of 56 member states including Malawi, the majority of which are former territories of the British Empire.
