Chakwera Faces More Pressure As Rights Group Plans Anti Govt Protest

The Chakwera administration faces more pressure to act as another rights group plans to hold anti-government protests.

This comes barely weeks after a series of similar demonstrations in Lilongwe, Blantyre and Zomba championed by a grouping under the banner Action Against Impunity.

Led by Charles Ben Longwe, the protests will run for three days from Wednesday to Friday next week in Mzuzu, Karonga, Lilongwe, Zomba, Mangochi, Blantyre and Nsanje.

Chairperson for the National Congress Movement in the northern region, Gomezgani Nkhoma, says they expect to deliver their petition during a stakeholders’ preparatory meeting.

The additional three days will be used as a waiting period to receive answers.
