Chakwera Off To Zambia For Kulamba Ceremony

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera says the annual Kulamba ceremony in Zambia helps to unite people from three countries of Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia.

Dr Chakwera was speaking at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe on his departure to Zambia where he is to attend this year’s Kulamba ceremony at Mkaika.

The Malawi leader and the First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera were seen off by Deputy Secretary to the President and Cabinet Janet Banda and other government officials.

The Chewa cultural event brings together all the Chewas from Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique to pay homage to the Chewa Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi.
