By Suleman Chitera Mar20,2023

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera will on Thursday, 23 March 2023 travel to Blantyre where he will be meeting former Presidents of Malawi, to update them on the current situation after the devastation by Cyclone Freddy.

Dr Chakwera disclosed this at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe on Sunday during the national update on Cyclone Freddy.

The Malawi leader said the meeting will provide an opportunity to brainstorm on relevant issues affecting the country including the calamity caused by Cyclone Freddy.

The President is expected to meet Dr Bakili Muluzi, Dr Joyce Banda and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.

Prior to the meeting with former Presidents of Malawi, Dr Chakwera announced that he will go to Parliament on Wednesday where he will appeal for more support from legislators as they will be deliberating on the National Budget.

Dr Chakwera is expected to visit other places affected by Cyclone Freddy that he was unable to reach last week due to impassable roads.
