Deputy Health Minister Daudi Joins Global World Fistula Day

Deputy Minister of Health Honorable Halima Daud-MP on Friday joined the global world in commemorating international fistula day and launched the National Obstetric fistula strategy 2023-2030 at Kasakala school ground in Ntchisi.

Among other things the strategy will guide implementation of interventions towards fistula with an aim of preventing and ending fistula in Malawi.

Honorable Deputy Minister reaffirmed the Malawi government’s commitment in supporting fistula programs management and rehabilitation to be part of the policies and Strategic interventions for sustainability.

In Malawi, the magnitude of obstetric fistula is huge as most vulnerable groups are adolescent girls and young women especially when they become pregnant at an early age.

This year’s commemoration focuses on the theme; 20 year progress, but not enough! Act now to end Fistula by 2030.
