Drug fight Malawi, a local Non-Governmental Organisation working to combat drug and substance abuse has rolled out an outreach campaign to combat drug and substance abuse amongst young people in schools.

Executive Director for Drug Fight Malawi, Nelson Zakeyu, said the campaign seeks to raise awareness of the dangers of drug and substance abuse.

“Young people who have never used drugs should never try to experiment with any other forms of drugs because they are like a trap that is difficult to get out of. Cannabis Sativa popularly called ‘Chamba’ remains a drug that is mostly used amongst Malawians, both young and old,” he said.

Drug Fight Malawi is implementing the campaign with assistance from Drug-Free World. The campaign has already been taken to Lilongwe Girls Secondary School, Bwaila, Chipasula, Tsabango, and Chilambula Community Day Secondary Schools.

Drug Fight Malawi intends to take the campaign nationally soon.
