By Suleman Chitera Apr28,2022

Ministry of foreign affairs says it will provide consular services to four people who have been arrested by the South African Police Service in connection with the murder of a 78 year old man, after ascertaining that they are indeed Malawians.

Speaking in an interview Thursday Ministry spokesperson, John Kabaghe said the ministry in liaison with the Malawian Embassy in South Africa will also be monitoring proceedings in the case and may provide legal representation when deemed fit to do so.

The ministry will also be updating relatives of the four suspects on any development regarding their case.

The four were arrested following the discovery of the body of a 78 year old man who was buried in a shallow grave at Cresta in Randburg and have been charged with kidnapping, murder and defeating the ends of justice.
