IMF Commtted To support Malawi

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has committed to support the country’s quick economic recovery through its programmes.

IMF managing director Kristalina Georgieva made the commitment yesterday after meeting President Lazarus Chakwera who is in the United States of America for the United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries.

Writing on Twitter , Georgieva said she had an excellent and productive meeting with Chakwera.

She said: “We pledged to continue working together closely—our teams will cooperate toward an IMF-supported program asap to help with Malawi’s short-term economic recovery and longer-term development goals. “
