Immigration Deports A Nigerian National

Immigration authorities in Lilongwe have deported a Nigerian Kelly Kayode Adedokuni, 44, for contravening the laws of Malawi.

Public Relations Officer for the central region, Pasqually Zulu, said the deportee was arrested by police officials when he was trying to acquire a Malawi National Identity Card through the National Registration Bureau Office.

Zulu said he was later charged with an offence of false declaration in his quest to obtain a Malawi National ID that would enable him to acquire a Malawi passport.

He said Adedokuni, being a foreign national, a deportation order was made to have him sent to his native nation.

He was then deported by Immigration officials through the Kamuzu International Airport.

Meanwhile, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services is appealing to all foreign nationals residing in Malawi to respect the rule of law, as failure to comply warrants deportation.
