Joyce Banda For Women, Youth Empowerment

Former President Dr Joyce Banda who is currently attending African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTCA) conference on Women and youth in Tanzania, has called on African leaders to invest in the youth and women as one way of combating economic migration.

Dr Banda who is attending the conference at the invitation of that country’s President, and the Secretary General of AfCFTA, called on African leaders to advance the flagship AfCFTA project in a quest to achieve successful implementation of the Agenda 2063.

Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan speaking when opening the conference said the time has come for leaders to unite to promote youth and women for meaningful development goals.

The three-day conference is taking place at Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre in Dar-es-salaam under the theme: ‘Women and youth: the engine of AfCFTA trade in Africa’
