IT’S LEGAL! LAWYER WEIGHS IN
A Mzuzu-based private practice lawyer Jivason Kadzipatike has backed a move by the government to interdict Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General Martha Chizuma.
Speaking to MBC, Kadzipatike said the decision upholds the rule of law that calls for the suspension of public officers whenever they are charged with criminal charges.
“It is normal for a person working in the public service to be interdicted if they are answering criminal charges in court. You would not expect the ACB Director to be an exception,” said Kadzipatike.
