Malawi Freedom Network Yesterday MCP had a successful NEC meeting which lasted for many hours. During the indaba MCP has endorsed President Chakwera as 2025 presidential candidate.
People did not agree on replacing the late vice president Sidik Mia. Others wanted to endorse his wife ABIDA as his successor but it had received more resistance.
Most of MCP NEC want Gospel Kazako as Vice president replacing Mia.
The challenge is that Kazako is not a member of MCP and has not been welcomed at constituency level
