MUHARA, MULLI OUT ON BAIL

Former Secretary to President and Cabinet, Lloyd Muhara and business magnate Leston Mulli are out on bail after their arrest on Tuesday.

Among others, Chief Resident Magistrate Madalitso Chimwaza has ordered the two pay a cash bond of K500,000, one surety bonded at K10 million, not to interfere with state witnesses and appear at Area 30 Police headquarters in Lilongwe once every fortnight.

They were arrested in connection to their alleged involvement in a loan settlement deal to have Mulli Brothers Limited pay K5 billion in 50 years.

They have since been charged with conspiracy to defraud and abuse of office.

The State says it later disclose number of witnesses they intend to parade.

Democratic Progressive Party supporters stormed the court premises chanting songs of solidarity with Mulli.
