Over 142 projects lined up for Dowa District Council’s Reformed CDF

Over 142 projects have been lined up by the Dowa District Council to be implemented in the 2026 – 2027 financial year for the Reformed Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Briefing the District executive committee (Dec) on the progress of the Reformed Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Dowa, the Council’s Planning Officer Benjamin Moyo, said over 142 projects to be implemented under the Reformed CDF are including District Wide projects which every constituency will contribute 10 percent towards these projects.

Moyo said so far, there are are some activities the council has already done such as conducting stakeholder meetings with councilors, MPs and chiefs of the district.Beyond Water Presents Post PRM implementation strategy to Dowa DCT

He said the council has conducted environmental screening of projects, oriented Constituency Development Committees on Reformed CDF guidelines, formulated 10 CDCs in 10 constituencies, advertisement of three Constituency positions, recruiting of constituency officers, advertisement of projects, among others.

The officer said Reformed CDF District Wide projects will include upgrading of road from Agriculture offices to Robert Blake Road via Dowa trading centre, construction of two staff houses at the DCs house compound, renovation of government offices, construction of hospital optional paying wing, and construction of Dowa Community ground.

Moyo said Reformed CDF for Dowa North East constituency will see construction of Matekenya Health Centre, construction of Zingani, Matekwe, Chigudu, and Kanyungu bridges and completion of Mcheza CDSS.Teachers transfers affects DAPP TRIO project in Dowa

In the Dowa Central constituency, Reformed CDF will upgrade a road from Dowa Secondary school turn off to Mkuziwaduka to gravel need, construction of Kanyungu and Chidoola bridges, completion of Mponela Community Hall, and construction of additional school blocks,teachers houses and latrines at Mponela 2 primary school.

In the Dowa Mphudzu Constituency, CDF will construct Kang’oma, Kanjere, Namilulu, and Katete bridges, rehabilitation and upgrading of Mdika to Simbi via Changunde Road, construction of Chilimmimba secondary school, construction of OPD at Madzo Health Centre, and installation of reticulated water system in the areas of Sub T/A Njati and Mkanakufa.

In Dowa Mndolera constituency, there will be reshaping and grading of Dzoole turn – off to Mlengwe via Chibweza and Dzoole trading centre Road, construction of Kalonga Health Centre, Mndolera CDSS (Phase 1), upgrading and reshaping of Mpatsa to Simbi via Mkwenya Road, installation of culverts at Mbalami bridge (along Dzoole turn – off to Mlengwe Road.Kamphangala pleads with government to add Dowa on MVAC Report

” Dowa Kasangazi constituency will see construction of culverts at Kakubwi bridge along Jasi to Chakhaza Road, completion of Tchawale CDSS school block, construction of Chandenda and Mponela CBCC’s, construction of a staff house at Ndevu Hope CDSS and construction of Tchawale Health Centre ( Phase 1).

In his remarks, Dowa District Council’s Principal Environmental Officer Yusuf Laki, said the council has done its part appealing to all stakeholders to work together to see to it that the Reformed CDF is a success in the district.
