Government has set 30 April, 2022, a day for the installation ceremony of Joseph Bongololo Gondwe, as paramount chief Chikulamayembe of Tumbuka tribe of Rumphi.

Speaking after engagement meeting with paramount chief Chikulamayembe’s Royal family heads deputy minister of local government, Halima Daud expressed satisfaction with reports that there are no chieftaicy wrangles in the district.

In his speech, Secretary for the royal family, Jolly Gondwe says they are happy that this issue is over and they will continue with preparations for the installation ceremony.

Camp for Mtima Gondwe did not show up at the meeting, because they are claiming that the invitation letter did not show the agenda for discussion, and that they have been writing President Lazarus Chakwera against the approval of Joseph Bongololo Gondwe as paramount chief Chikulamayembe but never got response.
