Police Urges Learners To Report Abuses

Amid increasing reports of abuses targeting children in Malawi, Chileka Police in Blantyre has resorted to equipping learners in different schools on how best to report abuses they face to relevant authorities.

Learners, especially the girl-child, have been subjected to defilement by their own guardians and teachers.

Chileka Police Station spokesperson, Jonathan Philipo and Community Policing Coordinator for the station, Emmanuel Kalungu took turns sensitizing learners at Namitalala Primary School under Khombwe Zone on the indicators and effects of abuses.

The duo, in their speeches, emphasized that the service was trying hard to deal with perpetrators of various forms of abuses targeting children in Malawi.
