Three government officials have been arrested for their alleged involvement in human trafficking.
Two of the three are police officers from Kamuzu International Airport whilst the third one is medic at Kamuzu Central Hospital.
Their arrest has come amidst reports that forty Malawian nationals earlier trafficked to Oman are struggling and stuck.
Jean Sendeza, Minister of Homeland Security said the arrest of the three is an indication of governments commitment to ending human trafficking.
Meanwhile, Vera Kantukule, minister of labour has told MIJ Online that absence of a bilateral relationship between Malawi and Oman was making it difficult for government to bring Malawians trapped in Oman back home.
