Minister of Information and Digitization Moses Kunkuyu has called on Malawians to be responsible enough when using social media saying some of the comments being made concerning deaths of people leaves a lot to be desired.
Kunkuyu said this on Sunday at Dzenza Secondary School Ground, where the funeral ceremony of the late Chitsulo was being held before departure to Mpeni Village in Thambani, Mwanza, where she will be laid to rest on Monday.
The minister said it is pathetic that some people are using social media to castigate others saying this is inhuman.
“Let me appeal you all that whenever death strikes, let us all be responsible and avoid using social media badly. Death can happen to everyone and let us all unite,” said Kunkuyu.
On her part, Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara commended the late Chitsulo for the role she has been playing in parliament.
Hara said Chitsulo will be missed highly due to her skills and contributions both in the national assembly and outside the chamber.
