The Shepherd Bushiri foundation has donated five houses to 5 elderly people in Mwendetsa Village, Traditional Authority Kabudula in Lilongwe.
The foundation has also donated bags of maize to 100 families.
Speaking in Lilongwe during the handover ceremony, co-founder of the shepherd Bushiri Foundation, Mary Bushiri, said after the rain season, the foundation will build 10 more houses to accommodate all elderly people and the village headman.
Bushiri encouraged the villagers to send their children to school for the betterment of the village.
Receiving the donation, Group village headman Mwendetsa thanked the prophetess and said he is willing to give the foundation a piece of land, where they can build a church, a hospital and a school in the near future.
90-year-old Chikwatile Jeke, who is one of the beneficiaries of the donation said the houses will ease the burden of sleeping in unsafe and leaking houses.
Donating a borehole last year in the village, Bushiri expressed her dismay at the conditions of 15 houses belonging to elderly people, hence the initiative.
