Mangochi accuses MCP of hiding in MDF and MPS threatening people

By Vincent Gunde

Karonga based rights activist Comrade Lytone Mangochi, has accused the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of hiding in Malawi Defense Force (MDF) and Malawi Police Service (MPS) to issue threats and intimidations to the citizens in a country of democracy.

Mangochi said he is in support of Comrade Bon Kalindo saying having positions of influence in government is not a passport to be threatening and intimidating people assuring all that that just the same as Bon Kalindo, he is ready to be killed and cannot be threatened by anyone.

He has advised prime security institutions, the MDF and MPS to discharge their duties professionally and not to side with a party sponsoring phanga wielders saying the Malawi Army is the most discipline in the SADC region and that discipline should not be destroyed by involving themselves in party politics.

Speaking through a video clip, Mangochi has asked the MDF that if they are against political violence in the country they should arrest MCP thugs who have been terrorizing, intimidating and threatening people with pangas in Lilongwe because MCP Police has failed to arrest MCP thugs.

Mangochi has questioned Police Inspector General Mrs. Merlyne Nachulu Yolamu that what legacy is she going to leave for Malawians to remember her observing that Warrant of Arrests are only targeting opposition DPP members not panga wielding thugs of the MCP

He has described Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika as a statesman describing him as a youth visionary leader as compared to President Chakwera who will go down in the country’s history as the worst President Malawians have ever seen since 1994.

“This Chakwera you are following, will leave no legacy in Malawi and for sure, he will be voted out of government on 16th September, 2025,” said Mangochi.

He has advised UTM President Dr. Dalitso Kabambe and Norman Paulosi Chisale not to be frustrated with Warrant of Arrests which are like adverts in various media outlets claiming that 7 DPP top officials are to be arrested for various offenses.

He further advised them to emulate the courage of Kamlepo Kalua who is not moved with police arrests assuring the two, that they will suffer today, and tomorrow, it will be their turn and they will suffer three times more.

He has finally thanked DPP Shadow MP for Karonga North Constituency-Songwe, Agapason Mwang’onda for bringing electricity to Iponga Health Centre to ease blackout challenges advising the constituents to vote for him on 16th September, 2025.
