Two Dowa boma Malawi Congress Party (MCP) veterans, have called on President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to invite them to the State House so that they should receive the K50,000s free for all money State House is splashing.

The two Mr. Austin Meya and Kalembo Sanduluzeni have claimed that they are the ones who are keeping MCP district offices through their work, shoe repairing and all activities for the party are held in the offices in their presence.

Mteya and Sandulizeni said the party’s district main committees which include both League of Malawi Women and Youth were invited to the State House to dine with President Chakwera and at the end of the day they went away with the K50,000s plus left-overs food while them nobody has thought of their importance.

Visiting in MCP district offices in the central region of Malawi, one has to find shoe repairs doing their work and whatever question regarding the affairs of the party, these people are there for all the answers.

In Mchinji, Kasungu, Ntchisi, Mponela, the offices are looking very clean as if MCP employed cleaners meaning that these are the people who are doing the wok in their everyday life situations and it is no wonder that these people (shoe repairs) at MCP offices, are the veterans of the party.

One of the Dowa MCP veteran Austin Kalembo claimed to have started his shoe repairing at the party’s office in 1975 while he was a youth, saying he has witnessed a lot of activities taking place in the party beside holding no position in the party.

Kalembo said ever since, he has never thought of joining another political party, his party is MCP and will die with it assuring President Chakwera that not all that are coming from various districts to dine with him are for MCP.

He and Sandulizeni said they are admiring one woman who was in the company of others to the State House in Lilongwe that he has started her income generating activity of selling pumpkins at the Dowa main market with thanks to the K50,000 she received from the State House.

They said if them also can receive the K50,000s, this can go a long way changing their lives by investing in something which in the end would be bringing in money to supplement the shoe repairing businesses they are doing at the MCP district office -Dowa boma.

However, the two have lamented that the party’s authorities are not taking care of the MCP dilapidated flags at Dowa boma and Mpone Trading Centre claiming that the flags are not suiting that MCP is in government appealing to authorities to bring to them new flags to prove that MCP is ruling in Malawi.

They recalled that last time the new flag was brought at the Dowa boma MCP office was two years ago when Member of Parliament for Dowa North East constituency Sam Dalitso Kawale took his initiative through his brother but no one has ever thought of the importance of hew flags in MCP district offices.

Meya and Sanduluzeni expressed hope that President Chakwera would invite them to the State House not as shoe repairs at the MCP Dowa district office but the owners of the party claiming that the keys of the office are in their possession as owners of the MCP.
