President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Friday laid a wreath at a Heroes acre in Mozambique.

The national monument was constructed to commemorate Mozambique’s independence war which took place in 1974.

A year later, in 1975, Mozambique gained independence and the monument holds the remains of FRELIMO’S founding president, Eduardo Mondlane and Mozambique’s first president, Samora Machel.
