Minister of Energy Ibrahim Matola is this morning engaging Electricity Generation Company (Egenco) on the intermittent power supply cuts the country is facing.
Matola who is currently in a closed meeting with Egenco management at its head office in Blantyre wants an explanation on causes of the power supply cuts and solutions to the same.
He says intermittent power supply is a cost to the economy therefore solution to the problem needs to be established as soon as possible.
Malawians have been subjected to national blackouts experienced for three days in a row from Friday to yesterday.
On Friday, the system shutdown occurred at 11:51am, on Saturday at 5:36 pm while yesterday, Malawians experienced a national blackout at 07:37am.
