Opposition Democratic Progressive Party-DPP finally holds its stopped National Governing Council-NGC meeting at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi tommorow, Monday.
It follows the Supreme Court’s lifting of an injunction obtained by the party’s member Fredrick Billy Malata on grounds that some of the people initially invited to the meeting were not NGC members.
The court also ordered the party to include Malata on the list of those attending the NGC meeting.
This is the meeting where delegates are expected to set dates for the party’s much awaited convention ahead of the 2025 general elections.
According to the party’s constitution, the mandate of the current NGC members expires this month. DPP last held its NGC meeting in 2018.
