Think Pink Malawi on breast cancer awareness campaign

Think Pink Malawi held its annual breast cancer awareness campaign today in Lilongwe coupled by fundraising and community outreach programs to raise awareness and provide support to breast cancer patients in the country.

The event kicked off with an awareness walk which started from the Parliament building, the site where healthcare decisions and funding are determined, and concluded at Area 10, Followed by a panel discussion.

Think Pink volunteer Ellah Kayira said “Approximately 8 out of 100 individuals are receiving free screenings.

UNICAF University, Standard Bank, and Health care professionals from College of Medicine partnered with Think Pink Malawi to support the movement by donating merchandise to raise funds.

The Standard Bank Head of Branded Marketing Tamanda Ng’ombe said the initiative was in line with Standard Bank’s goal to support Malawi’s growth through cultivating a healthy nation.
