
Deputy Minister of Health Halima Daud has issued a warning to community members in the country to refrain from selling mosquito nets provided by the government.
She made the warning during the launch of the 2024 Insecticide Treated Nets Mass Distribution Campaign and the Commemoration of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Malaria Week in Balaka district.
Daud expressed concern over the selling of mosquito nets, emphasizing the importance of using them properly to combat malaria.

Meanwhile, Vijay Kumar Gajula, Malaria Product Specialist at FOSUN PHARMA and INTERMED PHARMACEUTICALS in Malawi, stressed the need for collaborative efforts among various stakeholders to effectively fight malaria.
Gajula highlighted that the company is working closely with the government and other stakeholders to provide malaria drugs.
According to World Health Organisation (WHO) report, over 250 million people suffer from Malaria globally annually.
