“Attend the parliamentary session on 29th October, 2025 and vote to secure the Speaker’s position for the ruling party,” reads part of the statement signed by DPP Secretary General Hon. Peter Mukhito.

A Malawi Congress Party (MCP) diehard of Mvera in Dowa district Mr. Rodgers Kamphangala, has praised President Professor Mutharika and the DPP for the nomination of Suleman as Speaker of Parliament.

Kamphangala said Suleman is the best choice, he demonstrated to Malawians that he has leadership qualities by standing with the people claiming that all of his contributions in parliamentary deliberations have been people-centered priorities.

He said in the last 5 years of Parliament, Suleman, Kamlepo Kalua, and Yeremiah Chihana stood firm standing for the people in their constituencies making the Speaker of that time Catherine Gotani-Hara to be proved by Malawians as the worst Speaker of Parliament the country has ever had since the dawn of multiparty politics and democracy in Malawi in 1994.

The MCP diehard has urged Malawi Congress Party (MCP) MPs to support the election of Suleman as Speaker of the House than standing behind MCPs nominated candidates for the same position of Catherine Gotani- Hara and Richard Chimwendo Banda.

He has proposed to President Professor Mutharika names of two women Hons. Esther Jolobala and Mary Thom Navicha as First and Second Vice Speaker of Parliament expressing hope that President Mutharika being a listening President will settle for these two women.

The MCP diehard said Malawians had seen the 5 years of President Chakwera being the worst years with nothing to write about and the worst Speaker of Parliament in the history of Parliament in Malawi, a woman who put to shame fellow women in decision-making positions and policies.

Kamphangala has finally wished Hon Sameer Suleman all the best expressing hope that all parliamentarians including MCP will stand behind his name for Malawi to rewrite the Speaker’s History of Parliament from the worst to resurrection from the dead.
