The Malawi Government has unveiled ambitious plans to construct a state-of-the-art interchange at Kameza Roundabout in Blantyre, a development expected to significantly improve traffic flow, road safety, and economic activity in the country’s commercial capital.

Roads Authority (RA) Acting Chief Executive Officer Joel Lungwe announced the plans while providing an update on the multi-billion-kwacha road infrastructure programme. According to Lungwe, the Kameza Interchange is being designed to accommodate increasing traffic volumes while addressing congestion that has long affected motorists using the busy roundabout.
The proposed interchange is expected to become one of the country’s most significant transport infrastructure investments, joining other landmark projects aimed at modernising Malawi’s road network.
