Blue Eagles Reserve head coach Christopher Sibale says his team is fully prepared to defend the CRFA League One title despite losing eight key players to their senior side ahead of the 2026 season.
The Area 30-based side, which won the 2025 campaign, has experienced significant player turnover after a total of 11 players were promoted to the main squad over two consecutive seasons. This includes three players last season and eight more ahead of the new campaign.Mighty Wanderers 2-0 Blue Eagles
Among those promoted this year are Enock Jobo, Stasha Chibala, Chrispin Singano, Webster Mzunda, Innocent Zambira, Madalitso Khamula, and Pius Saka—players who played a crucial role in the team’s previous success.
Despite the setback, Sibale says the technical panel has worked on rebuilding the squad with new players to ensure competitiveness and sustain their title challenge.
“We have brought in new players and prepared them well. The aim remains to compete strongly and defend our title,” Sibale said.
Blue Eagles Reserve begin their title defence with an away fixture against Mbabvi United on Sunday, 28 June 2026, at ABC Blue Gym.
Sibale acknowledged the challenge of facing motivated opponents in a season boosted by new sponsorship from Go Jet Investments, saying every team will be eager to make an early impact.Blue Eagles Sisters enjoying 100 percent winning record
