Suleman Chitera The Alliance for Democracy (AFORD) is celebrating 30 years of existence in Malawi as a registered political party at a Mega rally underway at Chilimampunga ground in Mtandire in Lilongwe city.
The party is also Celebrating 31 years after referendum which saw the country transitioning from one party rule to multiparty democracy system of government.
Party leader Enock Chihana is leading the event which has attracted other senior members of the party from all regions of the country.
AFORD under the leadership of its founder Thom Chakufwa Chihana played a crucial role in the fight for multiparty democracy in Malawi.
