Amended Land Laws To End Land Disputes

There is hope that the 2022 amended land laws will assist the country to end multiple land disputes that are currently rocking the country.

Deputy Minister of lands, Deus Gumba told journalists in Blantyre on Monday that the new land laws were crafted to remove all barriers that were choking land issues and that Chiefs need to be proactive in utilizing the laws.

This comes when Traditional Authorities Mlauli and Simon of Neno are wrangling over a piece of land which is earmarked for compensation after being affected by the electrification project.

District commissioner there, Hudson Kuphanga says the council will utilize the new laws to resolve the dispute.
