Blantyre Based Youth Group Donates Exercise Books And Pens At Mwayi Primary School

A Blantyre based youth group under the name Open Hearts Network has donated exercise books and pens to learners at Mwayi Primary School in Blantyre district.

Speaking at the donation Public Relations Officer for OHN, Takondwa Velemu said the donation was part of the goals of the grouping which is to reach out to the need.

“At OHN as our motto suggests, we believe that sharing is caring. We are here to make this donation in support of Mwana Alembe Project which aims at making a difference to learners by providing them with various materials, ” she said.

Open Hearts Network has since called upon other stakeholders to support people in need.

On his part, Headmaster for the school, MacLennan Kengere said the donation came at a very right time.

“We are very thankful for this donation. As teachers, we are aware that many children do not have enough materials due to the rise in the cost of living. We do not take this for granted because the donated materials will make a difference, “Kengere said.

In total, the donated items cost the grouping MK500,000.
