Chakwera Fault Roads Contractors

President Lazarus Chakwera has faulted some contractors in the country for the state of poor public infrastructure such as sub-standard roads.

Chakwera said, some roads and buildings that have been affected by disasters this year is due to the use of substandard materials and use short cuts in executing projects.

Chakwera also faulted officers inspecting these structures for failing in their duties, adding that what they report is different from reality on the ground.

He cited Linthipe -Lobi road that developed potholes few months after completion.

Chakwera made the statements shortly at Mwenje Primary School ground in Dedza during a development rally after crop inspection tours in the district.
