CRWB Doubles Water Supply To Nkhotakota

Central Region Water Board (CRWB) says it has doubled the water supply to Nkhotakota town.

This was disclosed by Chairperson of the Board, Eddison Mombera, during the commissioning of a generator at Chitenje Water Pumping Site.

The Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation John Bande officially commissioned the site.

‘’We used to pump 30 thousand cubic metres of water per day but now we can pump 60 thousand cubic metres of water,” said Mombera.

Member of Parliament for Nkhotakota Central, Peter Mazizi, while commending CRWB for increasing water supply said there is a need to reach out to other communities like Sani and Kasamba with potable water.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Water and Sanitation says it will ensure that all water boards in the country have partnerships that will help to fund water projects to increase access to clean and potable water.
