Flames Must Take Two Years Sabbatical Leave-Suleman

Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South East Constituency Sameer Suleman has proposed to Government through Minister of Youth and Sports Uchizi Mkandawire that Malawi National Football Team, popular known as Flames must take a two year ‘sabbatical leave’ fro international football tournaments in order to allow the team rebuild to avoid hypertension among football fans.

Suleman who was once President of Football Association of Malawi (FAM) said this in Parliament today during question time.

Suleman says the team is becoming a “national embarrassment” to the nation as it continues to register loses in each game it plays home or away and that it was necessary to take a ‘holiday’ from all international engagements.
