Madalitso Baloyi highlights youth-driven solutions as key to Malawi’s socio-economic transformation

Minister of Health and Sanitation, Madalitso Baloyi, has called on graduates from the Malawi Assemblies of God University (MAGU) to adopt an innovative mindset that enables them to make meaningful contributions to national development and long-term socio-economic transformation.
Baloyi made the remarks during MAGU’s 13th graduation ceremony held in Lilongwe.
The ceremony, conducted under the theme ‘Leadership, Innovation, Impact and Legacy,’ saw 485 students receive qualifications across various academic disciplines.
The minister emphasized that innovation is a strategic enabler for youth empowerment, job creation, and sustainable growth.
She urged graduates to focus on applying their knowledge to develop solutions addressing Malawi’s pressing development challenges.
Baloyi also highlighted that the government has established programs designed to support youth-driven initiatives, providing practical platforms for graduates to develop viable ventures aligned with national development priorities.
MAGU Assistant Registrar for Administration, Haward Bowa, encouraged graduates to uphold strong Christian values, maintain discipline, and remain hardworking as they transition into a competitive global space that rewards integrity and resilience.
The graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone for the university, showcasing the role of higher education in shaping Malawi’s future leaders.
